The 2023 BC Property Assessments are now available online through BC Assessment, and homeowners can now check theirs on the website and expect to receive notices in the mail latest by the end of January 2023.
In accordance with BC Assessment assessor Bryan Murao, most homeowners around the province can generally expect about a 5-15% rise in assessment values this year. The assessments are based on July 1, 2022 values, i.e. using similar properties sold up to July 1 as calculation of the assessed value.
Home owners who feel their assessment does not accurately reflect the value of the property as of July 1, 2022, can file an appeal by January 31, 2023.
